Intran Receives CTPAT Certification

For 55+ years, Intran has been committed to providing high-quality manufacturing services that meet the strictest of industry standards. That includes involvement in several trade programs and the correct and consistent application of ISO and IATF certification standards at every step of our manufacturing process.

Because of the care we take in all aspects of our manufacturing process, we’re proud to announce Intran’s acceptance into the global Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program.

What Is CTPAT?

The Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) is a program run by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to improve the security of goods imported into the United States. It’s a partnership between the government and businesses involved in the supply chain, such as manufacturers, importers, and transport companies.

The program was created in response to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. After 9/11, the U.S. government recognized the need to improve security for goods entering the country to prevent potential threats.

Launched in 2002 by U.S. CBP, C-TPAT was designed to strengthen supply chain security. The idea is simple: if companies take extra steps to secure their shipments and follow strict safety guidelines, the government will reward them with benefits like faster customs clearance and fewer inspections.

Benefits Of CTPAT

Since 2002, the program has grown to include thousands of members worldwide and has become a key part of keeping global trade safe while ensuring the efficient movement of goods.

Companies that join the program agree to follow strict security measures to protect their shipments from being tampered with or used for illegal activities. In return, they get benefits like:

  • Faster processing at customs
  • Fewer inspections
  • A reduction of examination rates that reduces the cost to the customer
  • An enhanced reputation as a trusted trade partner

C-TPAT does not replace any mandatory regulatory compliances; it is one more step toward a more secure transportation process while increasing efficiency and reducing shipping times. Reduced shipping times bring your products to you faster, so you can get on with the business of selling auto parts.
